Welcome

The Diggers’ Store is an iconic heritage building in Castlemaine, established in 1857.  Once selling mining supplies to the local diggers, it has an historical significance for the region.

Alex grew up at The Diggers Store and he and Tina took over management of the property in 2013.  In the store today visitors will find a multiple use space, with an art gallery/project space, a selection of independent vinyl records, art works, and espresso.

Behind the main house and store, sits a carefully converted 1850s stable, that the pair run as bed & breakfast accommodation.

An adjoining the old stable is a large stone building containing a 100% analogue recording studio – Sound Recordings, operated by Alex.
