A unique Goldfields experience!  Stay in a self contained, authentically converted 1850s stable, just a few minutes from Castlemaine.

The Diggers Store offers a unique Goldfields experience in a converted 1850s stable, set behind an old gold-mining supplies store.  Interesting artifacts from the Gold-Rush period and vintage detailing throughout, alongside modern-day comforts, ensure a comfortable and curious stay.

The self-contained converted stable sits behind the main house, offering privacy, and comfort nestled within a sweet country garden setting with a small fruit tree orchard, a kitchen garden, heritage rose bushes galore, a 60 year old grapevine canopy, and a small brood of hens.

A perfect romantic getaway spot, or a cosy trip away for a small family, the converted stable has sleeping options for up to four people in the upstairs bedroom.  (One double bed, one double fold out couch, and a fold-out iron single bed).
Comforts include an open fire (as well as a gas heater!), air conditioner (cooling and heating), fully equipped kitchen, a record player and collection of vinyl, comfy couches, books, a collection of magazines, board games, and WIFI & Netflix.

Lovely breakfast provided for those that want to enjoy some local produce: sourdough, eggs from their backyard hens, goat yogurt, homemade granola, organic fruit, cold pressed apple juice, jams, nut butters, freshly ground coffees, milk, and a selection of teas.

Located a few mins drive from central Castlemaine, a slow-moving country town with an emphasis on local produce and gastronomy, wine, heritage and history, arts and crafts.
